Bootcamp: Day 1

2 years later, and I am back in the Bootcamp class at the Pro Sports Club gym. Today was day 1 (of 2 months).
Lisa Mikey still owes me one. He said he would take the class WITH ME. (Even though I know he already took it alone last year).
Bryan (a co-worker) is also signed up for the class, and I paired up with him on the warm up drills. He said he would cover up for Mikey for now.
Today was not too intense. We probably ran about 3 miles total – Grasslawn Park is about 1.3 miles from the gym; add runs around the field; add a hill repeat; and running back to the gym. We ran in 45 degrees F weather. Other exercises covered today also include jumping jacks, push-ups, conditional sprints, tossing 6lb medicine balls back and forth, and add some stretching & balancing drills.
My muscles are really sore right now. This is just the beginning.
Wednesday is the fitness test – push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and the timed 2 mile run. This will set the base line. In another 2 months time, we get to check how our numbers have improved (if at all).
My goals for the next two months –
1) Make my medium t-shirts look baggy on me
2) Complete the whole bootcamp program/class
3) Receive and show off the ‘ProClub Bootcamp T-shirt’ ( think of this one as the “I did/survived bootcamp, and all I got was this t-shirt” )
Lets do this dang thing.
