Mount Baker Hike
Posted: Jun 26th, 2006 at 10:53 pm by chilumba
We have been in the Pacific Northwest for almost 3 years, but have never gone to the mountains. That changed this weekend. Nelly and I joined Carl, Shawn, and Ashish on a fun day trip to Mt. Baker (under 3 hours from Seattle).
See trip pictures. Lookout for Nooksack Falls and amazing scenic mountain top views.
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State extends more than 140 miles along the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains from the Canadian border to the northern boundary of Mt. Rainier National Park.
Nelly and I did not expect the mountain to be covered with snow, and hence did not take any sun glasses. Hmmmm…. BAD IDEA!!! We paid for it today as our eyes have been burning the whole day.
Carl mapped out our positions during the hike : MAP
It was a really fun hike. Nelly amazingly covered distance even with her hurting knee.
Memorable words for the trip – Buffalo(NY), Sync, Moose
