Nelly has knee surgery

Nelly’s left knee has been a pain (literally) for a few years.
Physical therapy tried to get it back to normal for several months, but the knee was a constant bother. Last year, it even got to a point where Nelly’s doctor advised her to stop wearing any shoes with heels. This resulted in Nelly’s shoe closest expanding with flat-shoes.
Since physical therapy was not able to completely fix the problem, the other option advised by the doctor was knee surgery. Well – today was that day that THEY were going on a journey to attempt to once-and-for-all finally fix Nelly knee.
The procedure was fairly quick – they knocked her out with general anesthesia, and within 30 minutes, the doctors were done. The good news is that it is not Arthritis. Other good news is that they expect her to be taking a few steps without the help of clutches in 3 days – and potentially will be walking normally within a week.
What sucks is that this is the same weekend I have ‘A weekend retreat’ for one of my MBA classes. One of the requirements for the weekend for this class is “don’t come with distractions”. I hope I will be able to pull this one off knowing that my wife is at home just recovering from surgery.
Nelly is doing well so far. She seems to have a good path going between the living room, kitchen, and the bedroom. So she can take naps, grab something from the refrigerator, and watch some TV – all with very little help.
