Saludos desde Rivas… en Nicaragua
Posted: Dec 27th, 2007 at 9:57 pm by chilumba
We are currently in Rivas, a city about 3 hours from Managua – December 26th. We are in a small beach town called ‘San Juan Del Sur’ (South of the San Juan), and our hotel is less than 300 meters from the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Yesterday, we checked out the beach and I took an amazing picture of the sun-set. Today, we finally jumped into the ocean and played with the splashing waves.
We have been trying out the various ocean front restaurants. They have amazing prices for Seafood and cocktails. Where else can you get lobster for less than 15 bucks?
I tried out a Nicaragua cocktail called Macua. Fruity cocktail made with Nicaraguan Rum (Flor de Caña), complete with a cherry hanging on the glass. Tonight, I get to try out the Nicaraguan beers – need to give my opinion on which is the better local beer – Victoria or Toña. The challenge was set by my wife.
Plan of attack – get both beverages at the same time (double fisting), and do a taste-by-taste comparison. This should be an episode of ‘Three Sheets Nicaragua’
Nelly and I are here for 2 nights before we head back to Managua.Adios y Gracias.
