Chil’s Point of View….

Saludos de Nicaragua == Greetings from Nicaragua.

We arrived in Managua on December 17th 2007. 
Chilumba looked for internet access and was finally happy to be online again .

Spanish keyboards do not have the @-symbol. Shift-2 does not do the trick. So I had to ask how to enter the @ sign while in the internet café. The people there looked at me weird and stared at me with looks that I should have already known how to do that. The short-cut to do that is ALT-64! When I try it on my laptop, this key combination does nothing. But in internet café around Managua, this combination is your friend. PS – Mikey tried ALT-64 on his academia computers – they too do nothing.

As expected, temperatures are in the lower 90s (about 32+ Celsius). It is not humid though.
I have been enjoying togging my shorts and t-shirts outfits. I am still wondering what I brought a couple of long sleeve shirts. Maybe I will put one of them on when heading back – prepare for Atlanta, since we will have an 11 hour lay-over, and Atlanta is currently cold.

Nelly’s mom is here too. She arrived yesterday from Los Angeles. She is excited as this is the first time in over 9+ years that she has been with all her children in the same place. It will definitely be a good Christmas for her.
