Chil's Point of View….

Condo –

Signed last Friday August 24th 2007 for the sale of the condo. Coincidentally, this was exactly 3 years from the signing day of buying it in 2004. The papers were in Escrow for the whole week finalizing for the 30th August closing date. At around 3.45 PM (GMT-8 : Seattle time), I received a call that the condo sale was complete. I was no longer a home owner.

House –

For the new house purchase, signing was done on Wednesday August 29th 2007. The Escrow people just had one day to finish paperwork from our end to finalize for the 30th August closing date (the next day). A few minutes after 4 PM Seattle time, Nelly called to find out if everything was on schedule. We were just about to be called apparently – we were officially the new owners of the Redmond house! I guess we were homeless for about ~20 minutes – not too bad.

 

All in all, I am amazed at how the jigsaw puzzle pieced connected. What were the odds of closing on both buying and selling on the same day. We were definitely lucky that this worked out.

Move –

Today is move day. Almost everything is in boxes ready for the movers to handle early this afternoon. We have the whole morning to pack up the small odd items; and I finally get to disconnect internet, computers, and pack all my electronics. I insisted that I only disconnect these a few hours before. So I will probably not have immediate internet access for a couple of days (except on my Windows Mobile powered phone). Comcast claims the internet will be up and running when I plug in my equipment at the new place. We will see if Comcast is right.

Nelly and I spent the whole day boxing up the kitchen. Yes, the whole day. I guess packing fragile items is a chore.

It will be a busy labor-day weekend. But I am glad the huge items are getting out of the way one-by-one. August has been a busy month.
