I hope this works – closing on both houses on the same day. We had to pull the buying close date a day earlier so that we can avoid the labor day weekend rush - if we missed that day, then the next day we would be moving would have been Tuesday September 4th. (time we would also get the keys)

On the other side of things, the selling close date is still scheduled for the 30th. The buyers of our house are probably trying to take advantage of the long weekend as-well.

I will be taking some time off for this whole balancing act. When I bought a place 3 years ago, I remember the last minute phone calls from the escrow closing company asking me to come immediately to the office, and while driving there, they canceled. A few hours later, they called again – I did not enjoy the cat-and-mouse run around as I was getting closer to getting the house keys.
It time to start packing……
