Still on the Eastside!
I should probably go into real estate after going through the house buying and selling process over the last few weeks.
Last few months:
- We have been looking at house after house
- We finally narrowed down on areas (or zip codes to live in)
- Been looking at house after house
- Went to a few open houses to look at what is available
- Been looking at house after house
Thursday 19th JULY:
- Made an appointment with our agent (same one used 3 years ago)
- Made plans on listing current place, and plan to see some houses Nelly and I liked
- Asked agent to take us to a new listing we saw earlier in the day
- Loved the house (it is ~ 1.5 miles from our current condo)
Friday 20th JULY:
- Decided we were going to put in an offer (and match the next offer + $100)
- Wrote up an offer (below listed price), and seller had 24 hours to respond to offer
- Jumped around excited that we finally found something
- The wife is now nervous (it was really excitement) because house transactions were now rolling
- Hoping to hear back for seller
Saturday 21st JULY:
- Seller of house decided she was not taking an offer below listed price. Seller was expecting another offer to come in
- Put in an offer for listed price. Again, seller had 24 hours to respond
Sunday 22nd JULY:
- Seller accepted our offer. Seller is going to throw in an extra refrigerator and freezer in the garage. Seller also says she will leave the washer and dryer.
- We have 5 days to schedule a house inspection
Monday 23rd JULY:
- Call house inspector, and we had an appointment for Wednesday @ noon (Seattle/PST time)
Tuesday 24th JULY:
- No updates. Concentrating on selling current house
Wednesday 25th JULY:
- House got inspected; a few things called out will be taken care of
Saturday 4th AUGUST:
- The wife took some measurements of the new house, so that she can think out the furniture situation – Just when the husband thought they already had furniture. This is a chance to throw in an HD TV request. Maybe some RAM for my computer, or better yet a machine as Media Center. Cough…cough..A HOME BAR..cough..
Although house is 1.5 miles away from our current house, it actually has a 98052 (Redmond) zip code instead of the 98007 (Bellevue). But it is located in between Redmond, Bellevue, and Kirkland; 0.4 miles from Grasslawn park.
Niiiiiiice. Let’s see some pictures!
