Just sold my house!

I think the housing slum is not yet hitting Seattle.
Monday, 23th JULY:
- House went on the market around 11 AM. By 2PM, our agent was already showing someone the place. Person was interested, and asked if price was negotiable.
- Later that evening, another showing
- 2 showings in 1 day. Not bad… We priced just right (we initially would have priced it $10,000 less than actual)
Tuesday, 25th JULY:
- A whole bunch of showings, and people randomly coming over. Some lady verbalizes that this is the one she has been looking for – she has been house hunting since March
- More showings….
- Late in the evening, our agent calls letting us know that someone has put in an offer – Full Price, but they want us to pay for closing costs. It is only the second day, so we will think about the offer all the way through Saturday. (More might come in… you never know)
Wednesday, 26th JULY:
- We counter offer about paying closing costs
- New offer comes in for full price
- More showings, and someone else has put it an offer for full price.
Thursday, 27th JULY:
- We accept one of the offers
- We draft accepting the second offer if the first one does not go through
Wednesday, 1st AUGUST:
- Buyer does a home inspection
- Inspection report comes out clean; though I need to switch out the smoke alarm, and fix some smugged windows - which we had called out before putting house on market.
We are closing towards the end of August. It looks like we will be moving/packing/unpacking during labor day weekend.
Pertaining to the housing slump, I read an article last week in the Seattle times which claims housing prices are going up in this region. (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/325818_housing01.html).
Won’t someone please think of the Ikea cabinets??
Where ya moving to? Prices are pretty good in Cambridge right now…
I am still on the Eastside!!!!!!! I will be representing the 98052 zipcode!
Homeless for a few hours. Closing on the 30th on current house, and closing on the 31st on new house.
What can one say? I guess its for you good to be on the Eastside!
