Bootcamp: Week 8 – Graduated! (Mission complete)
Posted: Jun 6th, 2007 at 8:10 am by chilumba
I finally pulled through it.
The last Bootcamp class was an oxymoron – Bootcamp yoga!
Corey showed us his other side – he is more than Mr. Bootcamp instructor. Maybe he was marketing for the Yoga class that he teaches. No warm ups – we just headed straight to Grass Lawn Park. We did a few laps, and performed the Yoga exercises and stretches on the field. I must say Yoga was pretty relaxing, and I probably was at ease when I ran back to the club.
Bootcamp is over
Remember in my first Bootcamp journey posting –
My goals were (1) to fit or make my medium t-shirts buggy again; (2) to complete the whole Pro-club boot camp; and (3) to receive the ‘I survived boot camp’ t-shirt.
Medium T-shirt:
I all of a sudden have a large wardrobe selection again!
Two weeks ago, I was able to comfortably wear medium T-shirts.
Marasi gave me a Versace t-shirt some time back (Long, long time ago. Even he was surprised I still had it), and I could fit in it comfortably a few weeks ago. This T-shirt now fits comfortably on me!
Earlier in the year (in February), Mikey sent me a medium sized Harvard T-Shirt. They must “make” small people at Harvard, because this t-shirt was smaller than a regular medium I had in my closet. But I was determined to fit in it comfortably as well. I probably had to push in some extra cardio to fit in the Harvard Medium size.
Program Completion:
Obviously with this post, I claim to have finished the Bootcamp program.
This journey was a big deal to me. Yes – I am going to brag about it for a while.
Nelly is obviously happy it is over – You know, every time I would go for that class, I would be running with an emergency contact card. I think that was one of the requirements before she would allow me to take this program < - that also meant I had to buy running shorts with pockets in them!
Boot Camp T-shirt:
I got the the medium sized Pro Club T-shirt!
T-shirt front – “BOOT CAMP”
T-shirt back – “Only the strong will survive – Pro Sports Club”
What next?
I plan on taking this journey in two months time again!

Congrats Chilumba on rocking that boot camp again!
Thanks John.
Maybe one day I can be like you – and finally do a marathon!
